As I’m on my way home from a long weekend trip with my amazing fiancé, I’m smiling on the inside. This is not something we do very often. But we try to get away, just the two of us at least once a year. It’s nice to be able to spend some time alone, since with 4 kids we don’t get a lot of time for that.
We had lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of great food, and a little bit of frustration. I’m not going to lie, every time we go on vacation we have tiny arguments here and there. Mostly about food. But we still have fun, and at the end of the day we get over it.
This weekend we went to two big casinos in Connecticut. I had a lot of fun not worrying about anything for a change. The truth is, we gambled a lot, we didn’t win much, but we spent some great time together. I am walking away from this weekend with an empty wallet and a full heart. I don’t regret one minute of our frivolous weekend.
On Saturday evening we went to a comedy show. Not usually my thing, but it was amazing. I’m so thankful that my fiancé booked it for us. We had front row seats and got picked on by both of the comedians. It was the most fun I’d had in months. It was fun had with my other half. Fun I will remember for years to come.
The moral of the story is: take that trip, buy that sweater, have fun, take chances, go out of your comfort zone and don’t regret any of it.
