Let’s talk about a secret some of us moms keep. When we go to a movie our purses are filled with treats.
This is what the inside of my purse looks like when I take two teenagers and and eleven year old to the movies. For multiple reasons. For starters, it’s flipping expensive enough going to the movies without having to spend the extra money on snacks. Also, people don’t wash their hands guys. But mostly because I’m cheap.
I know I’m not the only mom who refuses to buy snacks and drinks at the movies. Am I? Before you go and tell me that this right here is why the prices are so high on movie theater snacks. Let me just say this: That is a lie. Prices on that crap were inflated back when I was a kid in the 80’s and 90’s. I can remember going to the movie with my grandmother with snacks and candy in my pockets when I was 6 years old.
Sometimes I buy popcorn and an Icee at the theater. But never candy. The same size box at Walmart is a 1/3 of the price. Ridiculous. Since I cannot tell a lie, let me lay some truth on you. I am not going to change my habits. If I’m going to pay $8-$12 on a movie, I am going to bring my own snacks. End of story. #MicDrop
Just a little note: We did not eat all of those Resee’s Thins. I swear. My purse is still full of them.
