Book Review: A Mad Zombie Party

WOAH. Okay, seriously. I loved this book. Possibly the most out of all of them. Which sounds crazy because this book is different. It’s not written from Ali’s POV, but instead it bounces back and fourth between Frosty and Milla. When I opened the book and realized this, I was BUMMED. I struggled to make myself read for the first couple of chapters just because it was not what I wanted out of the last book in this awesomely epic series.

But a few chapters in I was hooked. I fell in love with the characters in a way I never really fell in love with Ali. I’m not sure how to explain it except that, the raw feelings that Milla and Frosty felt constantly… I felt them on a soul crushing level. I never felt Ali’s that way. I mean, I felt them, because that’s just how I am when I read a book I love, but this was different.

Moving on.

So the last installment was perfect.Even if I was not prepared for Anima’s return. I was also not prepared to adore Milla or the ever annoying Frosty. I was not prepared to be angry with Ali and Kat for keeping secrets. I was not prepared for the laughs, the tears or the rage. Basically, I was not prepared for any of the things that happened to the characters. But I sure enjoyed the final ride down the zombie rabbit hole.

To be honest, I was also not prepared for this story to end. I have enjoyed Gena Showalter’s White Rabbit Chronicles. From every zombie fight to silly teenage romance. From every betrayal to every new friendship that was built. This series was everything. I would absolutely read it again and again.

Just a little PSA from the book: Hanging out with a dead ex-girlfriend (or ex-boyfriend) is not great for your mental health.

Overall, I’m happy with the way it ended, and if I say much more I may give the ending away. So I will just say this: Read the series. It is worth it.

One quick question: What should I read next?
